“Earth Song”

What about sunrise
What about rain
What about all the things
That you said we were to gain…
What about killing fields
Is there a time
What about all the things
That you said was yours and mine…
Did you ever stop to notice
All the blood we’ve shed before
Did you ever stop to notice
The crying Earth the weeping shores?
Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
Aaaaaaaaah OoooooooohWhat have we done to the world
Look what we’ve done
What about all the peace
That you pledge your only son…
What about flowering fields
Is there a time
What about all the dreams
That you said was yours and mine…
Did you ever stop to notice
All the children dead from war
Did you ever stop to notice
The crying Earth the weeping shores

Michael Jackson’s song tells more about taking care of Mother Nature…but sometime we do not realize, we are a part of Mother Nature. Every living, breathing, moving human being…are a part of it. Now what about the people that are not as privileged as most of us are?
We most often complain how difficult our lives our, sitting on our computers, stressing about problems at home, at work, at school, in SL…and all other things we can grumble about. Sometimes we need to be reminded how lucky we are. Would it require for other people  to suffer as much as the people from Masai Mara? Would it require this much poverty for us to realize that we are blessed and have to be thankful for what was given to us?
Measure life, and how much you have compared to them…then realize life is wonderful.
I personally believe that the Masai Mara group was not just made for the purpose of helping these people in need…but to show and enlighten us…that we are actually the ones who are desperately in need…in need to see life and the plenty that we have that often times  we forget to appreciate.
Take a short time to just look around…see the beauty of your kids, your family, beauty of your shelter, and all that is there in your life that is worth thanking for.
I may not be from Africa, and I can never share the same color that they have, but we are created as equal beings…not only they deserve the help…even more they deserve to live. Give love…give life… for the people of Masai Mara, Kenya
Love,
Markski Glom
